CMHVI Project Update - February 2003Construction on scheduleExertior Some work remains on the building exterior at the new entrance and the completion of the anodized metal siding. The new facility sign is expected to go up mid March. This will be mounted on the East and West sides of the mechanical penthouse and will be visible for quite a distance. Work will also begin on exterior site improvements in the Spring, with anticipated completion in the Fall. Interior Interior work is being finalized on the operating suite, PACU, and Single Stay floors and completing the flooring installation, casework, ceilings, and painting. Equipment installation has begun. The building is now running on its own electrical, plumbing and heating systems. The new elevators are nearing completion and inspection for certification. Work has begun on the connector and lobby package. In April, work will begin on the physician office suite on the ground floor. It is anticipated that this will be complete in the Fall. 02/21/2003

CMHVI Project UpdateOctober 2002Exterior The roof is complete and the crews are working to close in the exterior of the new building, which includes working on masonry and installation of windows and siding. The glass 'store front' for the new entry way will begin shortly. The final site work for the new building entrance will begin in the Spring of 2003. Interior Interior works consists of installing mechanical and electrical systems, elevators, stairways, interior partitions and support systems for the clinical functions. The existing areas of the hospital, such as the operating room suite, are being connected to the new building. To provide temporary heat for the building construction and permanent heat as the building is completed the hospital's existing steam system is being used. A new 1500 kw emergency generator has been installed. Anticipated completion date for the project is the Spring of 2003. 10/08/2002

CMHVI Project UpdateApril 2002
Work has been progressing well on the CMHVI project at Central Maine Medical Center. Below is a brief overview of the project to date. Steel erection is progressing, with crews working diligently to meet the projected completion date of April 22nd. The main foundation is complete with crews working on secondary walls. The main electrical supplies to the hospital have been rerouted and expanded to supply power to the hospital as well as the new addition. Piping has been re-routed to bypass the new addition. HVAC components have been installed to meet cooling demands this Spring. The project is currently on schedule and a Spring 2003 completion date is anticipated. 04/29/2002
